What to see in Macau

If you’re looking for a destination that offers you endless entertainment options, a blend of Portuguese and Chinese culture, and world-class casinos, then Macau is the perfect place for you. Since i’m currently traveling in Hong Kong i decided to have a day trip in Macau, I’m glad i did. They say Macau is the Las Vegas of Asia and yes it is! Gambling is definitely the ambiance once you get there. I’m not a fan of gambling and i never did it there, but i enjoy the colorful style and the noise of people around me while i’m walking. Since I’m staying in Venetian Hotel i decided to explore the place and its exactly how i picture it 🙂

It is a quick sight seeing and walking in Macau for sure so make sure to put it on your’e lists. This place is rich in history. The Ruins of St. Paul’s dates back to the 16th century when Jesuit priests arrived in Macau. The church was constructed between 1582 and 1602, and it was one of the largest Catholic institutions in Asia before it burned down in 1835. The façade of the church is what remains, and its majesty never fails to impress tourists from all over the world. Also dont miss their light show at night and be entertained.

The Senado Square, also known as Largo do Senado, was built in the 16th century during the Portuguese colonial era. It was originally a market square and a meeting place for merchants and travelers. It is a perfect example of Portuguese colonial architecture, with colorful buildings lining the pedestrian streets. The most notable building in the square is the St. Dominic’s Church, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The church was built in the 16th century and features a baroque-style facade with intricate carvings and designs.

Make sure to stay until sunset and be amazed of how view is changing. Monte Forte Macau is one of the most accessible and popular attractions among tourists. Monte Forte used to be a Portuguese military fort, which was built to protect the city’s historical area and its people from attacks of invaders way back in the 17th century. As time went on, the fort became a place that visitors come to explore, learn about Macau’s intriguing history, and enjoy panoramic views of the city. The fort’s historical significance is well documented, with several exhibitions and galleries that highlight the fort’s military history.
